Summary:Surveyed by Exeter Museum Field Archaeology Unit in 1989. Adjoining Agnes' Shaft, which is blocked with timber, is a granite machine base. This may be the bedding for a balance bob related to the flat rods coming up from the waterwheels at Blanchdown Farm.
