Summary: | Evidence of Roman campaigning in the SW (the first temporary camps). Roman temporary camp, on the right side of the River Taw near North Tawton, about 500m north of the Roman road running E-W. To the south of the road is the fort. The whole of the north side is about 450m long, some 15m of east, together with a rounded NE angle and part of the curve of the NW. Minimum area of 6.8ha. |
