Summary: | Early nineteenth century single storey five sided building with lancet windows. Photos in nbr (doe). Vis=20/8/1982 (os) a plaque over the southern doorway states that it was built in 1839 and rebuilt in 1974. The "re-building" was evidently extension and restoration (os). Vis=it is a one storey building of grey rubble with ashlar quoins with door and window dressings, which have been recently extended and modified (kanefsky). Vis="old toll house" marked on os 6" provisional (1904/1938) and 6" (1963) maps (os). |
