Summary: | Chest tomb approximately 1m east of the chancel of the Church of St Mary in Offwell. Late 18C - early 19C in memory of Samuel Dommet. Beerstone. The chest tomb sits on a chamfered plinth and has a plain flat lid. The sides contain rectangular panels with double beaded frames. The south-facing panel is inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. It records the death of Samuel Dommet and his wife but a section has broken off and this included the name of Mrs Dommet and the years in which they died. |
