| Summary: | Observations on excavations on the the bridleway to determine the cause of subsidence in this area. Excavations exposed a depth of 3.5m of mine waste from the whetstone mines upslope - natural ground was not exposed. It is probable that the collapses at the surface were created by the collapse of an adit at a depth below the base of these excavations as observed eleswhere - see PRNs 71416, 72418-9 |
