In May 2004, renovation works commenced on the former Liberal Club at 6 St Lawrence Lane, Ashburton. The author was asked to provide a limited archaeological survey of two features of the building which were to be destroyed. These were a large stained glass oriel window on the frontage at first floor level, and part of the north wall of a rear wing, whose timber framing was in a state of partial collapse |
