Summary:Historic building recording and archaeological recording of works within the basement of Grosvenor House. The basement is primarily of granite, contemporary with the upper sections of the building. Grosvenor House was built in th early 19th century to house militia corps assigned to Dartmoor Prison. The basement may have originally been service rooms, possibly servant's quarters or kitchens.
