| Summary: | During an archaeological evaluation undertaken on land at Hayes farm, 53 trenches were excavated, and numerous archaeological features were identified. These generally correlated well with the results of preceding geophysical surveys, and comprised ditches, pits and postholes. They were generally dated to one of three broad periods, prehistoric, medieval and post-medieval/modern. The majority of features, however, dated to the latest of these periods. |
