| Summary: | During an archaeological evaluation undertaken on Land at Island Farm, a total of twenty-two trenches was excavated. The evaluation identified a number of archaeological features which generally correlated well with cartographic evidence but were generally not identified by a preceding geophysical survey. Archaeologically significant features encountered comprised ditches, pits, postholes, and buried soil horizons dated to the prehistoric, medieval and post-medieval periods. |
