| Summary: | Archaeological trench evaluation over anomaly identified in geophysical survey. Depost of clay and chert was found to seal a number of ditches. Pottery identified the ditches as Roman. It is suggested that the hillslope was levelled for a yard or building. There is no evidence to suggest that this did not occur during the Roman period.
The earliest feature was a pit or ditch dated to the Late Neolithic-Early Bronze Age indicative of earlier activity on site. |
