Summary:	The buildings on the site represent a relatively smart group of industrial units built for a successful firm of local builders in c.1860 with later alterations. As builders their buildings advertised both their skills and their modernity. Typical of the period they displayed the use of local stones enhanced with brick and Bathstone; imported Welsh slate was used for the original roofs.
