Originator: | Kendall, M. |

Date: | 2020 |

Summary: | Excavation of the barrow by Wessex Archaeology has shown that the ditch around it was 4.0 to 5.0 metres wide and 1.5 to 1.9 metres deep. Sherds of residual pottery and flint artefacts were recovered from the ditch. In addition a stone structure within the barrow has also been excavated and was found to have been built over an inverted cremation urn. The stone structure appears to have been exposed for some time before the barrow was constructed over it. |
