Summary: | A report on the archaeological recording undertaken on the Emergency Coast Artillery Battery at Battery Gardens, Brixham, as a conditioin on planning permission granted for works on the No. 1 gun position. A written description and photographic record was made of those structures affected by the works; the gun floor and corridor, south tunnel and No. 1 and 2 crew war shelters. Few fittings survive within these structures as many were removed after the end of World War Two and windows and entrances blocked. The latter are now partially unblocked. |
