Summary: | An assessment of the significance of the ruins of the bakehouse building at Batson Hall Farm was carried out by South West Archaeology in advance of proposed consolidation and restoration works. The bakehouse is a small, square stone building to the north-west of the farmhouse. It is now ruinous but contains the remains of a large hearth with a bread oven and malting kiln. It is considered to have been built in the 14th-15th century. |
