Summary: | Otterton Priory was founded by King John (1199-1216) and finally dissolved in 1539. The manor was sold to Richard Duke in 1540. The Duke family finall sole out in Denys Rolle of Bicton in 1786. There is no firm evidence of the site of the priory buildings. The parish church, Otterton House and Dukes House have been thought to contain remnants of the priory. |
