| Summary: | Archaeological excavations were undertaken by South West Archaeology Ltd. (SWARCH) at the request of a Private Client in advance of the construction of a swimming pool on land at Higher Ayshford, Burlescombe, Mid-Devon, Devon.
The archaeological monitoring identified the remains of a modern floor and two footing/robber trenches relating to a lost agricultural building, which was Grade II* Listed, and described in its listing description as a heavily modernised 16th century barn. No evidence for the historic fabric survived within the excavated area, beyond demolition materials and modern fabric. |
