Summary:A stone implement 99mm x 76mm x 25mm & weighing 3.63kg was found 1.829m down in the cemetery next to Braunton churchyard in old river gravel. A grit from the N Devon carboniferous beds. It is perforated and a piece has been broken off by use. It may have been a hammer-head, hafted and used for striking blows. Neolithic or Bronze Age.
