More information : NY 4500 6290. A Post Medieval avenue associated with Scaleby Castle is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and has been mapped by English Heritage's Hadrian's Wall NMP. The avenue approaches Scaleby Castle from the north, leading from the public road at Scaleby village and ending on the north east side of the moat. It comprises parallel banks, interrupted in places, with a central incised carriageway, and extends for a total length of 680 metres. (1)
