Summary : A Neolithic ground greenstone axe (also described as a hammer stone) found in North Field, near the West Kennet Avenue in 1911, is in Devizes Museum.
More information : A Neolithic ground greenstone axe, ungrouped, was found in 1911 on ploughed ground in the North Field, close to the course of the West Kennet Avenue (SU 16 NW 101). Grooved with a ground surface, the object has been compared to miners' mauls or hammers. The axe is in Devizes Museum. (1-3)
