Summary : A group of airfield buildings at Sub Site Number 2, RAF High Ercall.This sub site was situated in the south-west corner of the former flying field- the latter is now destroyed. The World War Two group was used from 1940 and comprises a former warden's office and two aircraft hangars (type K) . The former wardens office was reportedly used in the late 1990s as a museum by a local aircraft recovery group. This is a single storey brick building with a gabled roof. The two steel framed hangars are used as warehouses.
More information : A group of World War Two airfield buildings at Sub Site Number 2, RAF High Ercall, noted in an Article by Mr Abraham, a contributor to "Airfield Review" journal. According to a plan of the airfield as it stood in 1945, this sub site was situated in the south-west corner of the former flying field- the latter is now destroyed. The airfield was used from 1940 onwards. The group comprise a former warden's office and two aircraft hangars (type K) . The former wardens office was reportedly used in the late 1990s as a museum by a local aircraft recovery group. (1)
