Summary : Kentish Town Underground station was opened on 22nd June 1907 by the Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway as an intermediate station on the line from Charing Cross to Highgate (now Archway). The original Leslie Green surface building survives and retains many original features including the station name at high level. Its single face facade has five arched windows. To its left is an angular canopy previously connected to the Midland Railway station. The ticket hall was redesigned in 1980-1 when the separate British Rail and London Underground ticket offices were replaced by a single facility.
