Summary : Blocks of possible medieval ridge and furrow are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on historic air photos. Some of these remains appear to survive as earthworks on more recent air photos and lidar-derived images.
More information : Blocks of possible medieval ridge and furrow are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on historic air photos.at SE4116 6589. This ridge and furrow lies to the south-east of Aldborough between the Roman road (UID 1030521) and York Road. Most of the furlongs run perpendicular between these two roads. The ridge and furrow lying closest to Aldborough appears to survive as earthwork on lidar-derived images, but some of the other appears to have been levelled on the 2009 Google Earth air photos.
