Summary : Archway (originally Highgate) opened on 22nd June 1907 as the terminus station on the Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway's line from Charing Cross to Highgate (now Archway); this line now forms the basis of the present Northern Line. It was renamed Archway (Highgate) in 1939 and then renamed Highgate (Archway) in 1941. It was finally renamed Archway in 1947.
