Built circa 1619, with wings of 1742, 1764 and the late 19th century. The 19th century wing was demolished by the 1970s and the wall replaced. A ballroom was added in 1907. Listed Grade I. (1)

Recorded as `lately erected' in 1619. Plan of hexagonal centre with three wings, described as `unusual'. Said to have been built as a hunting lodge for Sir Thomas Gorges of Longford Castle, itself designed on a triad principle, and a parallel with the similarly-named Newhouse Farm near Goodrich, built in 1636, is drawn.
