Summary : A gatehouse, built in c.1520 for and by Lord Dacre with additions for Lord William Howard c.1602 and probably restored by Salvin in 1845. Of two storeys and two bays. Built as part of the eraly 16th century bailey of the castle, between the moat and the east range, replacing the earlier gate in Lord William Howard's Tower.
