Summary : The remains of a Medieval tower, part of the Conisbrough Castle complex.
More information : [SK 5141 9890] Tower: A solid semi-circular tower
projecting from the outer face of the curtain wall, the tower

The remains of this mediaeval tower are in a good state of
repair and stand as high as the adjoining castle wall which
abuts it on its eastern side. The tower is of same construction
as the wall, it is semi-circular with the lower 2.0m falling
away in sloping masonry like a talus similar to the keep. [SK 59
NW 5.1] Diameter of tower 5.0m., at ground level it is 7.0 m. (2)

This tower has been incorrectly described by Auth. 2. It has a
diameter of 5.4 m. with a splayed base measuring 7.3 m. across.
The splaying commences 3.7 m. from ground level. The tower
stands higher than the curtain wall on either side and has had
its top facing removed, revealing the inner core of rubble. (3)

Condition unchanged. (4)
