Summary : The Anglo-Saxon finds recovered from excavations at Calleva Atrebatum. The 1864-84 and 1890-1909 excavations produced a number of small items which date from the 5th century and 7th century. A number of these may be regarded as sub-Roman but the presence of Anglo-Saxons on the site is attested by a button brooch and a glass palm cup, both of the 7th century. Other finds include a glass beads, a bronze pin, and glass fragments. |
