The field boundaries are oriented south-west to north-east on the southern side of Thiefside Hill and near perpendicular to the course of the Brougham to Carlisle Roman road (UID 1031541). These boundaries are 210m apart and the rectilinear enclosure abuts the southern side of the more southerly boundary. It measures 50x35m. (1-3)
