Summary : Early medieval mint at Cricklade striking coins intermittently from 978-1066.
More information : (SU1093. Sited to the area within the Early Medieval town defences
from authority (1) and OS 1:2,500) Coins of this mint are known from
the reigns of Ethelred to William II and have been found in various
countries of northern Europe. The author gives a catalogue of 61
coins, including descriptions. (1) A non-existent link between the
Oxford and Cricklade mints. (2)
