More information : The semi-circular projecting North tower of the Roman East Gate was seen in the garden of Eastgate Court in 1945. Excavations 1959-60 revealed the south tower in the NW corner of Tennyson Green. The gate was more than 86 feet wide, probably a double carriageway. (1,2)

East Gate: North tower and adjacent city wall in the forecourt of the Lincln Hotel, (formerly Eastgate Hotel). Plans are in place to improve the condition and interpretation of this monument. (4)
