Summary : Round barrow on Denzell Downs, forming part of a barrow cemetery. It is known as Denzell Barrow and survives as an earth, shillet and quartz mound roughly 22 metres in diameter and 2.5 metres high. Traces of quartz kerbing are visible in the southern and western edges of the mound. An urn containing burnt bones and a bronze knife were discovered in the edge of the mound in 1869. The centre of the barrow contains the remains of a World War II installation, (possibly associated with the nearby airfield of St. Eval).

This is a bowl barrow averaging 2.4m. high with no trace of
a ditch. A hole 1.3m. deep has been dug in the centre. (See
G.P. AO/64/111/4). Surveyed at 1:2,500. (2)

Probably THE Denzell Barrow. Fragments of a large handled pot ornamented with cord impressions and containing a cremation were found with a possible dagger in this barrow. (3-4)
