More information : The site of a ring ditch identified from an aerial photograph, and recorded as being 27 paces in diameter by LV Grinsell. There was no visible trace of the feature on the ground in 1986, and it has not been recommended for scheduling. The area is now occupied by a cattle trough and the whole area educed by tread. SU 0195 1012. A Bronze Age round barrow defined by a single ditch 27.5m in diameter is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs and has been mapped by EH's Knowlton Circles Project. This barrow is associated with the extensive barrow cemetery known as the Knowlton Circles Barrow Group. (3) |
