More information : (SP33157929) Well Street Gate (Site of) [NR].(1) Well Street Gate, (site). erected ca.1375, date of demolition unknown. Depicted.(3) Well Street Gate, (`porta in vico fontis') is first noted in 1411. It is a rectangular, two-storeyed gateway with an embattled parapet. It was removed in the late C18th or early C19th.(4) (Forms part of Coventry City walls, SP37NW48.) Sketch of the gate, early to mid C19th.(5)
