Stanegate Roman road runs west -to-east (see NY 66 NE 84, UID 1391048) and this section of road agger, which is 4 metres wide and 20 metres in length, turns sharply south-east. It is visible as earthworks on air photographs and centred at NY 6569 6574. It has been overploughed by post medievall ridge and furrow (NY 66 NE 258, UID 1391048). (3-4) |
