Summary : A bowl barrow on Hog Hill, one of a cluster of barrows located to the west and northwest of Maiden Castle (SY 68 NE 7 and associated records). In 1980, the Ordnance Survey described the barrow as a ploughed down mound 16 metres in diameter and 0.6 metres high, with no visible traces of a ditch. Scheduled. Neither Grinsell nor RCHME mention the barrow in their gazetteers. This barrow was formerly recorded as part of SY 68 NE 12. That record should be consulted for additional sources and information. |
