Full description
A 'Wooden Platform' is mentioned in Lilly's survey of 1717. The sequence in which the works are recorded suggests that this was to the east of the 'Blockhouse East Platform'. A grass platform is depicted in this position on Lilly's survey drawing.
A return of 1783 records 'some old 9-pdrs' which may have been emplaced here, and recommended their replacement with a 6-pdr. No reference to the platform after this time has been found (1).
