21 to 26 Ford Street labelled 'Maynard's Charity'.

In the 1750s, Maynard's Almshouses in Barley Market Street were in a dilapidated state. In the 1760s, almshouses for fifteen poor persons were built in Ford Street.

The building at the west end of the row (21/21a) has a stone tablet with 'Maynard's Charity' inscribed, and a datestone '1879'. The adjacent building (22/22a) appears to have been rebuilt in the 1990s. The rest of the row (23 to 26) has a central door giving access to 23a to 26a, above which is a stone inscribed 'Ford Street Charity 1762' .

Ford Street Charity, 23 to 26 (consecutive) Ford Street. Eighteenth century, much restored. Two storeys stone rubble. Slate roof. Central pediment over No 24 which has three casements. Nine windows in all. Simple doorcase with rectangular fanlights. Granite tablet (not contemporary) inscribed "Ford Street Charity 1762".
