A possible curvilinear earthwork bank of unknown date and function is visible.

A curvilinear earthwork bank up to 15 metres wide and circa 170 metres long is visible on aerial photographs, to the west of Woodtown, Alwington. The date and function of the earthwork bank are unknown. It does not appear to be a relict component of the surrounding extant field system but the visible ends of the bank point to the corners of the field which might indicate an agricultural function of post-medieval or modern date. The possible bank is visible on a single run of aerial photographs of 1987 only.
