Full description
Foster, K. + Skinner, R., 01/2016, A30 to A303 Honiton to Devonshire Inn Improvement Scheme, Honiton, Devon (Report - Assessment). SDV359378.
DBA undertaken along a corridor associated with the A30/A303 between Honiton and Devonshire Inn. This study is intended to inform the development of options for improvements to the A30/A303 between Honiton and Devonshire Inn.

Visited 5th July 2002 by John Thorp. Small block of pigsties with monopitch roof built up against north wall of cider house, on east side of yard. 1820 to 1890. It uses east end wall of the milking parlour leaving short space to south (between milking parlour and cider house) infilled and containing man door to feeding passage off the courtyard.
Rubble stone and brick walls with concrete block repairs. Late 20th century monopitch roof resting on purlin, under asbestos sheet covering.
5.6 metres by 3.4 metres by 1.8 metres high to eaves. Later raised level at eaves is 2.46 metres.
Doorway in west side (rear) front yard has segmental arch head of brick, contains probably 20th century frame and door. North front, two pig doors blocked with 20th century blockwork. Twentieth century grille windows are blockings of pig doors.
All interior partitions and fittings removed in late 20th century.
Currently used as a hen house. In poor condition.
