Summary

Two rough grids of possible post structures are visible on aerial photographs between 1975 and 2010. They are likely to be intertidal structures possibly associated with the fishing industry, eroding out of the sand in the second half of the twentieth century.

A rough grid of possible post structures is visible on aerial photographs between 1975 and 2010. They are spaced at approximately 8 metres and cover circa 50 metres in the intertidal zone. They are more widely spaced than the complexes of posts visible eroding out of the shoreline at Horsey Island, but are likely to be intertidal structures possibly associated with the fishing industry. A second similar structure is visible to the south-west. They are not visible on earlier available aerial photographs and are unlikely to be of Second World War date, having started to erode out of the sand in the second half of the twentieth century. However as they are clearly visible on the 1970s aerial photographs it is possible that they are relatively recent structures.
