A pit or hollow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs from the 1940s onwards and digital images derived from Lidar data acquired in 2007, less than 200 metres to the east of Windy Cove, Mortehoe. The pit appears to be embanked or surrounded by upcast soil on its west, north and eastern sides, and accessed from the south via an eroded or sunken track. The date and function of the earthwork are unknown.
