Swete, J. (ed. Gray T. + Rowe, M.), 2000, Travels in Georgian Devon. The Illustrated Journals of the Reverend John Swete. Vol. 4, 38, 40 (Monograph). SDV339713.

Swete, travelling across Dartmoor in 1797, describes how on his approach to the turnpike road, a couple of miles from Postbridge, found himself 'surrounded by innumerable Rabbits' at Mead's Warren. The warren was delineated by a line of stones but was otherwise unfenced. The enclosed area included old stream works lying within a deep hollow. Exact location is unknown.
