Full description
Skinner, A. J. P., 1918 - 1919, Vaughan of Ottery St Mary, 98-109 (Article in Serial). SDV336594.
The church contains many monuments to the Vaughan family. Article gives details of memorial inscriptions and coats of arms.

St Mary's parish church: wall tablet to William Peere Williams (d.1766) and Elizabeth Seignoret, his wife, (d.1794), signed J Bacon, R. A. A simple composition in the Grecian style with a very brief epitaph for the period. The scales on one side underline the tribute to the Magistrate and the cornucopia on the other testifies to the active benificence of his lady.
