Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
A slight kink in the hedgebank is depicted in this location.
Ordnance Survey, 1904 - 1906, Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV325644.
A semi-circular deviation on the field boundary along the road appears to correspond to the north-west part of the earthwork bank.

No specific aerial photograph reference has been attributed to this site, but it is clearly visible as an earthwork bank on aerial photographs taken between the 1940s and 2006-2007. The bank appears to correspond to a semi-circular deviation on the field boundary along the road on the 1904-1906 Ordnance Survey map, which is not visible on the 1880s-1890s Ordnance Survey mapping. It may therefore have been constructed in the late nineteenth century or early twentieth century, like The Hermitage to the north and the pond to the south (MDV103441).
