Site visit 12th November 1953. The present Cadhay Bridge is of brick and seems entirely modern. Polwhele records a stone bridge with 3 arches. This had an inscription on it, 'John and Joan built me. Pray good people repair me' which suggests a 16th century date. John Haydon built Cadhay House in the 16th century.
