A catch-meadow of probable 19th century date is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards as two earthwork ditches at East Charleton. The ditches are located along the hill slope on the 10m contour and appear to tap a spring-fed steam that flows downhill towards the southeast from East Charleton. The catch-meadow may have served to irrigate land associated with a possible farmstead recorded on the parish tithe map of between 1838-1848, approximately 90m to the southeast. The catch-meadow is visible on digital aerial photographs of 2002.
