1867, Bedford Estate Survey Map of Crowndale Mine (Cartographic). SDV351515.
'Shafts (filled)' shown to the south of Crowndale, 'Shafts (fenced) shown to the south-west.

Ffigure 2 shows an interpretative distribution of old mine workings at Crowndale Mine. A number of shafts are marked, some not shown on late 19th or early 20th century Ordnance Survey maps. One, to the north-west of Gill's Shaft, is marked 'Engine Shaft', and another, one of two shown at the eastern extent of the mine, is marked 'Eastern Engine Shaft'.
