Full description
Clements, H. A., 1994, Survey of Farmsteads in the Devon Part of the Blackdown Hills (Report - Survey). SDV344050.

Stable. Granary; stable; tack room. A gable-ended stable, with a tack room and granary at the lower, east end. Mr Perry remembers a horse engine house to the rear of the stable. Chert; rubble stone walls. Pantile roof. Triple pantile. A-frame. 3-bays. 2 bays to stable and one bay to tack room. A-frames with plain mortise and tenon apexes, held with single pegs. Nailed, lap-jointed collars. Replacement purlins. Diagonal ridge. Door/s; loading hatch; timber window/s. The stable and the tack room have plank doors in solid frames. The loft doors, to both the hayloft and the granary have plank doors held on strap hinges, in solid frames. There is a window at ground floor level to the stable and in the east gable end. Feeding gap; granary; hayloft. The tack room is divided from the stable by a full height partition wall. The loft above the stable is supported on a crossbeam on an axial pad. The joists rest on timber laces in the walls. There is a feeding gap to the rear of the stable. Currently an agricultural store.
