A probable bomb crater of Second World War date is visible as a circular earthwork pit almost ten metres in diameter on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards on a west facing slope, south-west of Headway Cross. The crater remains clearly visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data acquired between 1998 and 2012. A similar pit is recorded approximately 275 metres to the south.
