An area of possible medieval ridge and furrow and post-medieval to modern drainage ditches are visible as a series of earthworks on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012, to the south of Coombe Farm. The possible ridge and furrow (SY007849) is northeast to southwest aligned and occupies an area of approximately 0.45 hectares of gentle west facing slope. Historical mapping, however, defines much of the surrounding area as being occupied by a series of orchards and it is possible that these earthwork banks are in fact relict orchard banks as opposed to ridge and furrow. A series of co-axial drainage ditches, or possible relict field boundaries are also visible as earthwork ditches to the immediate northwest, in addition to a probable former east to west aligned field boundary visible as an earthwork ditch to the east. The earthworks remain visible on digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012.
